Welcome to Leung Tim Choppers Factory.

These Terms of Service govern your use of our website and your purchase of products from Leung Tim Choppers Factory. By accessing our website, placing an order, or otherwise using our services, you agree to these Terms of Service together with our Privacy Policy, Shipping & Delivery Policy, and Returns, Refunds & Exchanges Policy.

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our website or place an order.

Our online store is hosted by Shopify, which provides the ecommerce platform through which we offer our products and services.

Purchases made through this website are transactions directly between you and Leung Tim Choppers Factory.

2. Eligibility & Knife Purchases

Our products include sharp kitchen knives, cleavers and other cutting tools.

You must be legally permitted to purchase, receive, possess and use the products you order in your location.

Where a minimum legal age applies to the purchase or delivery of knives, you confirm by placing an order that you meet that requirement.

We may cancel or refuse an order where we reasonably believe that:

the purchaser does not satisfy an applicable age requirement;
the product cannot legally be sold, imported or delivered to the destination;
additional legal or carrier requirements cannot be satisfied; or
the order appears fraudulent, unlawful or unsafe.

Where required by law or by a delivery provider, proof of age, identification, signature or delivery to an eligible adult may be required.

3. Intended Use & Knife Safety

Our knives and cleavers are sold as culinary tools for food preparation, except where a product description expressly states another intended use.

Knives are inherently sharp and must be handled, used, cleaned, transported and stored carefully.

Customers are responsible for:

using each knife only for an appropriate purpose;
selecting a knife suitable for the intended task;
keeping knives safely stored and away from children;
following appropriate care and maintenance practices; and
complying with applicable laws regarding possession, use and transportation.

Different knife types are designed for different tasks. A slicing knife, for example, should not be used for chopping bones unless the product is specifically designed for that purpose.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Leung Tim Choppers Factory is not responsible for injury or damage resulting from misuse, improper handling, inappropriate storage, modification, negligent use, or use of a product outside its intended purpose.

4. Product Information & Traditional Manufacturing

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that product descriptions, photographs, measurements, materials, prices and other information are accurate.

However, many Leung Tim products are produced using traditional manufacturing methods. Individual items may therefore vary slightly in:

weight;
dimensions;
blade profile;
blade finish;
polishing and grind marks;
engraving or stamped markings;
wooden handle colour, grain and finish; and
general appearance.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, weights and measurements displayed on our website should be treated as approximate.

Such minor variations are part of the character of traditionally manufactured products and are not considered defects where they do not materially affect the product's intended function.

Colours and appearance may also vary depending on photography, lighting, screen settings and the device used to view our website.

5. Carbon Steel & Natural Materials

Carbon steel naturally reacts with moisture, acids and food.

Patina, staining and gradual colour changes that develop during normal use are characteristics of carbon steel and are not necessarily defects.

Carbon steel may rust or corrode if left wet, stored while damp or inadequately maintained.

Wood is also a natural material and may vary in grain, colour, texture and appearance.

Customers should review and follow the care information provided with our products and on our website.

Damage caused by improper care, rust, corrosion, dishwasher use, soaking, inappropriate sharpening, misuse or normal wear is dealt with in accordance with our Returns, Refunds & Exchanges Policy.

6. Orders & Acceptance

Submitting an order constitutes an offer to purchase products from Leung Tim Choppers Factory.

An automated order confirmation acknowledges that we have received your order but does not necessarily mean that we have accepted it.

We reserve the right, where reasonably necessary, to refuse or cancel an order before dispatch, including where:

a product is unavailable;
a price or product description contains a material error;
payment cannot be verified or authorised;
we suspect fraud or unauthorised activity;
shipping is unavailable to the destination;
an applicable legal or import restriction prevents fulfilment; or
an order otherwise cannot reasonably be fulfilled.

If we cancel an order after payment has been received, we will refund the amount paid for the cancelled portion of the order where required.

Please review your order carefully before submitting it.

Requests to change or cancel an order should be made as soon as possible. Once an order has been dispatched, it cannot normally be cancelled.

7. Retail & Wholesale Orders

Products purchased through our standard online checkout are generally intended for the purchaser's own use unless otherwise agreed.

We also welcome legitimate wholesale and trade enquiries.

Wholesale orders, commercial quantities, resale arrangements or specially negotiated orders may be subject to separate pricing, minimum quantities, payment requirements and other terms agreed between Leung Tim Choppers Factory and the wholesale customer.

8. Prices, Currency & Payment

Prices may be displayed in Hong Kong dollars or another currency depending on your location and store settings.

Prices, promotions and product availability may change without notice.

The price applicable to an order will normally be the price shown at checkout when the order is submitted.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, product prices do not include:

shipping charges;
customs duties;
import taxes;
GST/VAT;
customs clearance charges;
destination handling fees; or
other charges imposed by authorities or third parties.

Applicable shipping charges will be displayed at checkout where automatic shipping is available.

You must provide complete and accurate billing, payment and contact information and must be authorised to use the payment method submitted.

9. Shipping & International Orders

Orders are shipped from Hong Kong.

Shipping availability, methods, weight limits, costs and estimated delivery times vary according to destination.

International customers are responsible for determining whether the products they purchase may legally be imported, delivered and possessed in their destination.

Customers are also responsible for any applicable customs duties, taxes, GST/VAT, permits, clearance charges or other destination-specific requirements unless expressly stated otherwise.

Delivery dates and transit times are estimates and cannot be guaranteed.

Customs procedures, postal services, weather, transportation interruptions and other matters outside our reasonable control may affect delivery.

10. Returns, Refunds & Exchanges

All sales are final for change-of-mind purposes.

We do not normally offer returns, refunds or exchanges because a customer:

changes their mind;
selects the wrong product or size;
prefers another weight, shape, handle or material;
orders the wrong quantity; or
no longer wants the item.

Damaged, incorrectly supplied or genuinely defective products will be assessed in accordance with our Returns, Refunds & Exchanges Policy and any consumer rights that apply by law.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.

11. Errors, Pricing & Availability

Although we make reasonable efforts to maintain accurate information, our website may occasionally contain typographical errors, incorrect prices, inaccurate product information, inventory errors or other omissions.

We reserve the right to correct such errors and update information.

If a material error affects an order already submitted, we may contact you to offer the choice of proceeding on the corrected basis where appropriate or cancelling the affected item or order.

We will not knowingly use inaccurate pricing or availability information to mislead customers.

12. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the content of this website—including our original text, photographs, graphics, logos, branding, product descriptions, videos, designs and other original material—is owned by or licensed to Leung Tim Choppers Factory and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Shopify provides the ecommerce technology used to operate the website, but products purchased from our store are sold by Leung Tim Choppers Factory, not Shopify.

Your use of certain Shopify-supported features may also involve processing by Shopify in accordance with Shopify's applicable terms and privacy practices.

Information necessary to process orders may be shared with service providers such as Shopify, payment processors, postal or courier providers and other parties necessary to operate the store and fulfil orders.

Where a product is genuinely defective, materially inconsistent with its description, incorrectly supplied, or another mandatory legal remedy applies, the matter will be handled in accordance with applicable law.
